Davis, Donald E Director of Field Services - South (DFS-SO) Since November 2024, Donald (Don) Davis has served as the Director of Field Services (DFS) - South. In this role, Don provides executive leadership and direction to 13 FHWA Division Offices in the Southern region, including: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Prior to this position, Don served as the Division Administrator for the Mississippi Division Office. In this role, he directed a multi-disciplinary staff in administering and delivering the $725 million Federal-aid highway program (FAHP) in collaboration with Federal, State, and local officials. Prior to this appointment, Don served as the Mississippi Division Assistant Division Administrator for ten years and played an integral role in advancing the FAHP. In this capacity, he managed the Division's operations, established partnerships with key stakeholders, and deployed innovative concepts to effectively accomplish FHWA's goals and objectives. Don began his career with the FHWA in the Highway Engineer Training Program in 1989. Upon completion of the training program, Don held various engineering positions in the Alabama, Florida, and Texas Division Offices. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Florida State University.
