Yung, Jessie L Director, Office of Safety Technologies Since March 2019, Jessie has served as the Deputy Director of Field Services (DFS) - North. In this role, she provided support and guidance to the DFS - North in leading and managing more than 260 multi-disciplinary employees across the 12 northeastern states and the District of Columbia. Prior to this appointment, Jessie served as the Division Administrator for the Virginia Division Office, where she provided leadership and direction to 28 transportation professionals, in partnership with Virginia Department of Transportation and other transportation program partners, to deliver the $1 billion annual Federal-aid highway program. Jessie also served as the Special Assistant to FHWA's Executive Director. In this capacity, she was responsible for supporting the Executive Director in every aspect of the day-to-day operations of the Agency and managing the operations of the Office of the Administrator. She began her career with FHWA in 1998 as a Highway Engineer Trainee. Since that time, Jessie has held positions in Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania Division Offices and the Office of Operations. Jessie holds a Bachelor and Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.  Jessie is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland.
