Director, Office of Preconstruction, Construction, and Pavements

Moises Marrero was selected as Division Administrator for FHWA's Georgia Division Office in September 2018. In this position, he provides leadership to an office of 30 professionals that oversee approximately $1.3 billion of annual Federal-aid Highway Program funds for the State of Georgia.

 

Prior to his appointment, Moises was the Assistant Division Administrator for the Pennsylvania Division Office where he provided direction and guidance to FHWA staff on numerous important initiatives such as Stewardship and Oversight, the delivery of the safety, bridge, and pavement programs, innovation and Every Day Counts (EDC) implementation, civil rights, finance, performance-based management, and workforce development and succession.

 

Moises started his transportation career in the private sector as a surveying technician.  He gained experience in the fields of project estimation, surveying, design, and general civil engineering. Moises began working for the FHWA in 2002 through the Professional Development Program (PDP) as a Generalist Engineer.  Since then, he has expanded his experience and responsibilities through various permanent and temporary positions in the FHWA Divisions of Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, Arkansas, Virginia, and in the FHWA Office of Operations.  

 

Mr. Marrero has received various performance and honor awards, including the FHWA Superior Achievement Award in 2016. Moises has over 27 years of experience and holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and a Project Management Certificate from the George Washington University.
