Director, Office of International Programs

Leslie J. Wright was appointed Director of the FHWA's Office of International Programs in 2017, bringing a wealth of technical and policy-related experience in both the domestic and international fronts. The Office of International Programs is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Agency's international program, and identifying new technology and innovations in partnership with international organizations.

 

In her role as Office Director, Leslie, implements priority policies and programs, and provides sound advice on international matters to senior FHWA leadership. She also supports the U.S. First Delegate and others in FHWA in various roles and capacities in support of U.S participation in the World Road Association, Bilateral Relations, Global Benchmarking Studies and many other cooperative international activities.

 

Ms. Wright's international accomplishments include coalition building undertakings in several countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, seven African Countries, and more than twenty European Countries.  She has extensive experience in developing and fostering multi-lateral relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank and the World Road Association.

 

Leslie is a graduate of the George Mason University with a Master's Degree, in International Public Policy and Governance. She also holds a Master's Degree in Transportation Planning from Morgan State University. Leslie also acquired additional training in the Master's Leadership Program from the University of Oxford, in Oxford England, United Kingdom. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Morgan State University.
