Bezio, Brian RChief Financial Officer
In October 2015, Brian Bezio was named the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). He is responsible for the formulation, execution, and financial management of the agency's $72 billion annual budget, all financial systems and operations, the agency's internal controls program, coordination of all GAO and OIG audits, and strategic direction of FHWA's nationwide acquisition program, which totals $1.2 billion annually in contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and interagency agreements. Prior to becoming the CFO, Mr. Bezio served as the Deputy CFO from 2011-2015 and Budget Director from 2009-2011. He joined FHWA in 2009 after serving for two years as the Deputy Chief of Financial Management for the Federal Air Marshal Service. In 2007, Commander Bezio retired from the Coast Guard after a 20-year career. His last assignment in the U.S. Coast Guard was the Chief of the Budget Execution Division, where he oversaw the execution of the agency's $7.5 billion annual budget. Brian received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and a Masters of Public Administration from the George Washington University.
