Projected Period*

Baseline Time Period

Baseline period can go beyond the last year observed value has for AEP pr and ratio calculations, but all other calculations will not count years beyond when observed baseline value is calculated.

Include Infinity

Check to include pr AEP results by Infinity Formula.

Grid

Use commas to separate grid numbers to be included in the Excel files. Leave the box empty if you do not want to output raw data to the Excel files.
Grid Numbers

The grid numbers start from the lower left to the upper right, having the longitude goes first.

Using the CMIP Tool

This tool works with data from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s Downscaled CMIP5 Climate and Hydrology Projections (DCHP) website, available at http://gdo-dcp.ucllnl.org/downscaled_cmip_projections . This website houses climate model data from phase 5 (CMIP5) of the World Climate Research Programme’s (WCRP) Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP).

Use of the tool requires three primary steps:
1
STEP
Downloading Data

Determining the appropriate climate data to download from the DCHP website, including location, models, and emissions scenario(s)

2
STEP
Processing Data

Using the appropriate CMIP Climate Data Processing Tool to process data from the DCHP website into specific temperature and precipitation variables

3
STEP
Interpreting Data

Reviewing the results and properly applying them to decision-making
