F13a -Fort Matanzas National Monument

Boaters pass by the remains of Fort Matanzas that served as one of Spain's protection measures for those attempting to invade St. Augustine. This angular, multi-story structure includes a single round tourette that looks toward the inlet to the river. The structure stands with a backdrop of blue water and marshlands in front of it, and a tall, multi-story tree canopy to the back.
