Three large flags stand out front of a single story brick structure that is covered by green metal roof. Leading up to the entranceway is a tiled path with a small water fountain. This structure serves as a welcome center for federal parks along the northern end of the byway. This structure houses a number of historic displays and information focused on the interaction between the ecosystem and the area's historic resources.
